THE SILENT MOUNTAIN

We, Producer Heinz Stussak and myself, are looking for a credit sequence for our historical feature film THE SILENT MOUNTAIN with William Moseley, Claudia Cardinale, Eugenia Costantini and Fritz Karl. The film is produced by Austrian Sigma Film and US company VENT PRODUCTIONS. Attached you find a pdf with a short description of the story and some images. One Page. The credit sequence should introduce the protagonist, as well as time and place of the story.

The protagonist should be included as a voice over in the beginning.

Visually the credit sequence should incorporate historical stills/moving images out of the time between 1897 and 1915 in the Alps/Dolomitis. It should start with pristine mountains that slowly get civilized by first traces of tourism. We would also like to do a photoshop/animation of the hotel at the pragser wildsee lake (which is a central location of the story) being built and some photoshop of the mountains that surround the hotel at the lake.

The voice over in the beginning goes like this:

ANDERL (Protagonist)
As long as I remember I always loved the silence of the mountains. But when hammer and saw echoed through our valley times were changing. When I was four my father built the biggest and most luxurious hotel around. From then on I hardly ever saw him. And a whole slew of strangers streamed from all parts of the Austrian-Hungarian empire to our hotel next to the Italian border. My father called them - the tourists. He liked them, but what he loved was their money. Then came the war.

All of Europe was at battle. At Christmas they wanted to be back. But it’s already ten months now. And while all our men fight in the East against the Russians, my sister marries this Italian. But we didn’t call them Italians. We just called them Wallsche. At church everyone could feel the tensions. On the left the Walsch. On the right us. I couldn't stand watching my sister getting married to a Walsch, so my friends and I sneaked out of the church. We were about to deliver the wedding party a nice surprise

The voice over might also be a bit longer including references to what happened when the Alps were touristically developed. What happened during the beginning of WWI. etc.

The credit sequence ends with a burning fuse which ends at a firework that in the end doesn't go off. Maybe it's an idea to include the burning fuse in the credit sequence also as a visual constant.

The sequence should be around 2,5 minutes long.
